Ping Che

Ping Che: A Boundary Commerce and Industry Hub
From open storage to modern industry

Ping Che has long played a quiet but important role in the New Territories, with much of the area used for open storage and traditional workshops. Under the Northern Metropolis vision, it is now being repositioned as a key part of the Boundary Commerce and Industry Zone.

For investors, this marks a major shift. Ping Che is moving from conventional land use toward a more modern industrial future that supports the San Tin Technopole and the wider Greater Bay Area logistics network.

A new industrial direction

The value of land in Ping Che is increasingly tied to specialised, higher-value uses.

Special industries cluster
Around 36 hectares have been earmarked for industries such as cold chain logistics, advanced food technology, and modern manufacturing. These sectors are expected to bring more efficient and productive land use to the area.

Cross-boundary advantage
With the Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point now operating at full capacity, Ping Che is well placed to serve as a nearby base for cross-boundary business services and logistics.

What comes next

Ping Che is part of the broader New Territories North development plan, which aims to turn the area into a more connected and liveable district.

Infrastructure-led growth
Current planning and construction studies for the Priority Development Area are expected to drive major site formation works, transforming brownfield land into a more organised and walkable urban environment.

University town synergy
Nearby land is also being prepared for the Northern Metropolis University Town. Ping Che can support this growth by providing applied learning, industrial support, and commercial space for the surrounding ecosystem.

Funding and spillover effects
As the government moves to secure funding for site formation works in 2026–27, nearby areas such as Ngau Tam Mei and New Territories North are likely to benefit from improved accessibility and stronger development momentum.
